I was rolling out a new print server in a business and ran into an issue where only some clients were getting the printers pushed out with Group Policy. Bothers me, but they needed to be back in business. Installed both HP printers locally on a handful of computers that they have and they are printing again. Tried all kinds of updates installed, uninstalled, reg hacks added, removed, etc. argh x2.Įdit4: day 2, I gave up trying to fix this one client print server. But the first client I cannot seem to fix. argh.Įdit3: fixed a different client, needed Microsoft updates and it started working. another workstation cannot print to one of the printers. one other could print after update removed from server. Checking workstations now.Įdit2: one workstation still unable to print. Uninstalling the Sept security update from the server for the moment.Įdit1: so far uninstalling that update on the server did not fix the issue. Second one flat out crashed explorer.exe when you tried to print. One printer went through through the motions like it would print, but nothing came out. Even from domain admin logged into a workstation, I still could not print to the shared printers on the server. One client so far affected: two HP printers (only V3 drivers available yuck), Server 2012, and Windows 10 workstations.
